A concert in support of children and youths with Down syndrome under the motto \u2018Let’s embrace the sun\u2019 was organized by the regional governor of Burgas Region, Prof. Maria Neikova. The event took place on July 1, 2024 at \u2018The Snail\u2019 outdoor stage in the Sea Garden. The idea of the event was for children to give a helping hand to other children in the spirit of volunteerism, mutual aid and caring for others. The Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) supported the initiative as well. <\/p>\n\n
During the charity concert, young talents showcased their skills in choral singing, folklore, modern dance and contemporary music. With their genuine excitement, the children turned the event into a true celebration of kindness and generosity. <\/p>\n\n
The funds raised are going to be used for refreshing their home in Burgas, \u2018The House of the Sun\u2019, and the DownTown Foundation, which takes care of them, as well as for the purchase of consumables, study aids and equipment for the rehabilitation of children with Down syndrome. Part of the funds are also intended for hiring of a rehabilitator, a speech therapist and a psychologist to work with them depending on the individual needs of adolescents, in order to provide them with the necessary boost in personal development, which will improve their confidence in social communication and will help young people decide on their professional orientation. <\/p>\n\n
Among the participants volunteering to support the children with Down syndrome were Vocal Trio D\u00c9J\u00c0 VU, Folk Ensemble Trepetlika, Dance Ensemble LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas, Dance Ensemble The Three Times, DSC Burgas-75, Vocal Group Sea sands, students from the National School of Music and Performing Arts \u2018Prof. Pancho Vladigerov\u2019 and others. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
