All new assets, built in the recent years at Port of Burgas, offer excellent opportunities for the development of congress tourism and innovative operations in the seaside city. This is what Rossen Jeliazkov – Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, said, during his visit on 29.04.2021 of the International Congress Center Burgas, built by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company. The Minister was accompanied by the mayor of the Burgas Municipality – Dimitar Nikolov and the Regional Governor Valcho Cholakov. The Director of the Port of Burgas Branch of the BPI Co. – Ivaylo Ivanov showed the functionalities of the building to the official guests.

The modern Congress Center makes it possible for the dynamically developing seaside city to offer top-level congress and conference tourism. It has already received prestigious awards at two national competitions – for urban environment and culture development and for business construction.

Thanks to its spacious rooms, state-of-the-art equipment and perfect location – near the Marine Station, the Central Railway Station and South Bus Station, as well as a number of superior hotels, the Congress Center is an excellent choice for organizing world and national conferences, congresses, exhibitions, concerts, TV programmes, fashion shows, galas and many other diverse events. It has three main event rooms: “Chernomorie” (Black Sea Coast) room with a total capacity of 500 seats; “Faros” Room with a capacity of 250 seats and “Burgas” Room with 100-seats capacity. The building offers 250 parking places, 70 of which are in the underground parking.

The Congress Center is yet another feature in the modern vision of the Public Access Area of the port. In recent years, the BPI Co. has been implementing a large-scale project for developing this Area. The areas around the Burgas Passenger Terminal, the Coastal Center for Vessel Traffic Management and Information Services Burgas and the Yacht club have been landscaped.

A new road to the Burgas Passenger Terminal has been constructed, including a circular intersection, new sidewalks, quay pavement and greenery areas, bus and passenger car parking, cycling lane. The signature building Warehouse 1 has been renovated, a Children’s Science Centre – “PlanetUm” (PlanetMind), has been constructed. A Planetarium project is about to be implemented, boasting cutting-edge equipment. The building, which will be spherical with contemporary architectural design, is expected to become yet another favourite attraction for both the residents and visitors of Burgas.
