CEERIS becomes the sole system for electronic reporting on the Danube from September
30 Юли 2025
Starting 1 September 2025, all electronic reporting on the Danube River in Bulgaria will be carried out exclusively through the CEERIS system, introduced by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) as the single platform for international and cabotage shipping. With the launch of this new system, the current River Transport Electronic Document Exchange System (Single Window) will be discontinued. Until that date, both platforms will proceed operating in parallel to ensure a smooth transition.
CEERIS (www.ceeris.eu) is designed to enhance transport management efficiency and strengthen the competitiveness of inland waterways across Europe. By standardizing the reporting documents for vessel arrivals and departures at Danube river ports (DAVID forms) and automatically forwarding them to the relevant authorities, the system will significantly simplify the reporting process for users.
The CEERIS platform uses standardized cargo codes (UNECE Rec. 21), enabling the clear identification of transported goods. The information provided must correspond precisely to the attached documentation, including the type of cargo, quantity, the specific port terminal of departure and arrival, and the respective loading and unloading terminal. This data assists the competent authorities in organizing physical inspections and compiling statistical information.
All stakeholders are encouraged to prepare in advance for this change by verifying their registration and access settings for the resources required to fulfil their obligations.
Registration on the platform can be completed directly by users at www.ceeris.eu or via an invitation from their respective organization. No paper-based application is required. Additional information and answers to frequently asked questions are available at: https://ceeris.eu/auth/faq.
For further assistance regarding inquiries, registration, vessel requests, or configuration settings, the experts at the River Information Services Authority (RIS Authority) to BPI Co. are available Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:30, at support_bg@bgports.bg.
