The Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company participates in the „Technical Assistance for EuRIS“ (TA Grant) project, funded by the European Commission through the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The project aims to ensure the long-term and sustainable operation of the Common European Digital Platform for River Information Services – EuRIS, which provides navigational information for the European inland waterway network. The platform covers more than 27 500 km of waterways and over 270 000 infrastructure objects, supporting the safety and efficiency of inland navigation.
The Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company participates as a beneficiary with a budget of EUR 98 778, of which 50% is provided as a grant from the European Union. The funding will be used to support system maintenance, hosting and technical security of the EuRIS platform, in coordination with the RIS COMEX 2 project, which continues to finance its further development and upgrades.
Through its participation, the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company contributes to the digitalisation of inland waterway transport, the enhancement of navigation safety, and the integration of Bulgarian river ports into the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
