New Traffic Organization in the Area of the River Information Services Center under Construction in Ruse

In connection with the construction of the River Information Services Center in Ruse, the construction of a temporary railway crossing to Pristanishtna Street has been completed. A temporary traffic organization project has been prepared to ensure both unobstructed access of equipment to the RIS Center construction site and normal vehicle traffic along the busy urban artery in the river station area. The temporary traffic organization project has been coordinated with the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Ruse and the Municipality of Ruse.

The light signals for normal train passage have been relocated and all road signs have been installed to ensure the temporary traffic organization, which will be in effect until September 30, 2013.

The construction of the River Information Services Center in Ruse began in December 2012. The center’s construction is part of the activities falling within the scope of phase 2, lot 1 of the project “Creation of a River Information System in the Bulgarian part of the Danube River – BULRIS”. The project is funded by the EU through the Operational Program “Transport” 2007-2013 under priority axis 4 “Improvement of navigation on maritime and inland waterways”. The beneficiary is the State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure”.

The new building will be erected on the bank of the Danube River and will house the country’s first River Information Services Center, which will centralize all control of river vessel traffic.

The total investment value is BGN 5,986,752.89. Construction activities, traffic organization in the area, ensuring access to the building, construction of a new railway crossing, and reconstruction of the quay wall are planned to be completed in early April 2014.
