On July 5, 2013, a public discussion of the conceptual architectural designs and the designer’s perspective view

regarding the vision for the building of the future coastal center for management and information services of shipping in Varna was held in the city of Varna.

The discussion was organized on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications in connection with the implementation of the project “Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS) – Phase 3”, within which the construction of coastal centers in Varna and Burgas is forthcoming. The project is financed by EU funds through the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Program “Transport” 2007-2013 under Priority Axis IV “Improvement of navigation on maritime and inland waterways”.

The public presentation of the architectural solutions was attended by the mayor of Asparuhovo District, where the coastal center in Varna will be located, representatives of higher education institutions, and representatives of civil associations related to the maritime business.

The architectural vision of the building was presented personally by the leader of the design team, Arch. Nikolay Simeonov. He provided a detailed review of the presented conceptual proposals for the facade design of the coastal center in Varna, explained the existing limitations regarding the area, terrain, and functions that the future building on the site must fulfill, as well as the budget framework and specific requirements set in the contractor’s specifications.

During the discussions, various views were expressed, which, as proposed by the project manager Capt. Galin Nikolov, will be sent to the contracting authority in writing and will be taken into account during the realization of the project.
