Today and tomorrow, the regular meetings of the Port Management Committee and the Executive Committee of the European Sea Ports Organisation will be held in the Belgian capital. The Director General of the State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” Angel Zaburtov is taking part in their work.
The members of the ESPO Executive Committee will discuss the text of a joint memorandum, with which the most influential European maritime organisation will address the future MEPs and Commissioners regarding their position on the role of transport and seaports in the future priorities of the EU.
The focus will be on the latest amendments to the future common European regulation on the operation of ports. The ESPO position on expanding the possibilities for investing public funds in port infrastructure is to be discussed.
The ESPO Executive Committee forms the official position of the organisation on topical issues for the development of European ports, which will be presented for discussion at the upcoming International Conference at the end of May in Gothenburg.
The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) represents the interests of port authorities of all EU member states before the European Commission and the European Parliament. It unites the efforts of stakeholders to influence the shaping of EU policies to achieve a safe, efficient and environmentally sound port sector. Full members of the organisation, on the principle of national representation, are all EU member states that have seaports.
The Director General of DP “Port Infrastructure” represents our country in the Executive Committee of the European Sea Ports Association.
