State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” has concluded a contract with “EM TI BI ES – InfraCare” JZZD for developing a concept for the development of Bulgarian ports for public transport of national significance based on expected cargo flows.
The contract is valued at 880,124 leva, with financing within the framework of the project “Technical Assistance for the Development of Bulgarian Ports”, funded under Priority Axis 5 “Technical Assistance” of the Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013.
The task of the contractor selected through an open procedure under the Public Procurement Act includes developing an analysis of the state and trends in international passenger and cargo transport as part of port activities, preparing a prospective forecast for cargo turnover dynamics, for demand and supply in the port services market, as well as an analysis of strategic factors affecting the sector. The contractor will need to analyze future opportunities for financing activities for port development and cargo handling technologies, considering the role and place of Bulgarian public transport ports in pan-European transport corridors.
The concept must integrate various policies related to the sustainable development of water transport and serve as a foundation for forming a vision for the development of the port sector in Bulgaria.
