The Director General of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, Captain Georgi Sabev, participated in the second meeting of the Management Council of the unified European platform EuRIS, which took place on September 21, 2022, in Rotterdam, Kingdom of the Netherlands. The event was hosted by the Executive Agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management in the Kingdom of the Netherlands – Rijkswaterstaat (RWS).
As a result of the signed agreements between the thirteen partners of the RIS COMEX project, a Council has been constituted, which is the governing and decision-making body regarding the maintenance and development activities of EuRIS. The member of the Council representing Bulgaria is the Director General of BPI Co.. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on the Council’s working principles. The expansion of the scope of RIS COMEX, for which BPI Co. is the beneficiary for Bulgaria, was discussed, with countries such as Poland and Switzerland expressing interest in participation. The possibility of implementing a new project, funded under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), to continue the activities of RIS COMEX was also discussed.
