On March 25, 2015, a working meeting was held at the Headquarters of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPIC) in Sofia, where key activities of the project “Monitoring and Information System for the Black Sea” (KNRIN – 2014/108164 “Monitoring and Information System for Black Sea”) were discussed. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Norwegian Coastal Administration, BPI Co., and stakeholders as defined by the project.
The grant agreement between Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company and Innovation Norway was signed in November 2014. The total project value is €1.5 million, of which €1.275 million is provided as a grant from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 under the “Innovation in Green Industry” program. The national co-financing amounts to €225,000.
The “Monitoring and Information System for the Black Sea” project is the largest project in Bulgaria for the current period funded under this program. It will follow the successfully applied model in the implementation of the “Barents Watch” system.
