The subject of this procurement is “Rehabilitation of existing compromised metal water pipelines with HDPE Ф90 in port terminal Ruse-East”. The external water pipeline in port terminal Ruse-East was built during the port’s construction in the early seventies of the last century. The pipes are steel and eternit with diameters of Ф80 and Ф133 millimeters. The water supply connection comes from the main water pipeline of ViK Ruse, running along “Tutrakan” Boulevard. Within the scope of the procurement, the existing water pipelines should be renewed and rehabilitated, following the route of the existing pipelines, and where possible, using them as casing pipes. Excavation works should be carried out at a depth of 1.5 m. A 10 cm layer of sand should be laid and compacted at the bottom of the excavation. After laying the HDPE Ф90 pipe, hydraulic pressure testing should be performed to check pipeline tightness. Upon positive readings and absence of leaks, it should be covered with no less than 10 cm of sand layer and compacted. 72-hour tests of the replaced pipeline section should be conducted before proceeding with backfilling, with compaction performed every 10 cm of the backfill. All old branches should be eliminated, while existing building connections should be restored. Existing fire hydrants should be replaced with new ones and connected to the rehabilitated pipeline. Excavation works in different sections of the routes should be coordinated with the port operator’s management regarding underground communications and to avoid interference with the production process at port terminal Ruse-East. Excavations of 1.5 m depth and deeper must be reinforced, and manual digging is required where underground communications are expected. To ensure work safety, the working section must be properly marked and secured. Repair works should be carried out according to the technology and construction schedule submitted by the contractor and approved by the contracting authority. Water pipeline repairs should be performed with maximum two interruptions to the water supply of the entire terminal, after coordination with the management of “Port Complex – Ruse” EAD. During implementation, the contracting authority may substitute quantities of one type of contracted work with quantities of another type of contracted work to deliver the site in a completed state.
