Status: Completed, Type: Construction. The scope of the contract includes dredging of the harbor basin at Ruse East Port Terminal. The basin area has not been thoroughly dredged for more than 10 years. At some berths, there are areas of silting with deposits exceeding the design depths by more than 1.5 m. Uneven deposits of fine silts and clayey sands in a soft plastic state are present on the basin floor. At berths 7 and 8 (for bulk cargo handling), the deposits are mixed with coal dust, aggregates, ore, and other materials. The dredging works will be carried out under continuous operational conditions. The contractor is required to coordinate the technology and schedule for the dredging works with the port operator and the Port Captain. Before commencing work, the contractor shall submit a Health and Safety Plan, developed to mitigate risk and preserve the overall state of the ecosystem in the area for disposal of the dredged material. The disposal site for the dredged material, including coordinates, shall be determined by the Executive Agency “Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River” – Ruse. During implementation, the contracting authority reserves the right to modify the quantities of agreed work. During the execution of the dredging works, the rules and requirements of all applicable regulatory documents concerning technical safety, occupational health and safety, and fire safety within the perimeter of the dredging operations must be observed. The completion of the works shall be certified by soundings and a bilateral handover protocol with a conclusion attesting to the quality and volume of the actually performed works.
