The State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” has announced a public invitation for providing maintenance and comprehensive servicing of the automatic monitoring system
for information service and accumulation of a database for assessing the ecological condition of the main physical and chemical parameters of the environment in the area of the Port of Burgas.
A system for environmental monitoring of water and air was built by SEPI within the framework of the project “Environmentally Sound Management of Ports in the Cross-Border Corridor” – ECOPORT 8″, financed by the cross-border program “Southeast Europe”. The system makes it possible to receive real-time information on the state of certain physical and chemical parameters of seawater and air in the water area of Port Burgas and to control the impact of port activities on environmental factors.
The Port of Burgas and the Port of Bar in Montenegro are the only ones in Southeastern Europe in which similar systems operate. Based on the analysis of the environmental parameters, which have been observed for a year now, mechanisms are currently being developed for interaction between all stakeholders related to the implementation of activities in the port areas and nearby settlements. The unified standards for environmental monitoring are being developed in the second stage of the project – TEN_ECOPORT – “Transnational Expansion of the ECOPORT 8 Network”.
The documentation for participation in the announced public procurement is available on the SEPI website in the section “Buyer Profile”.
Deadline for receiving offers: November 1, 2013.
