Construction of a Monitoring and Control System for the Danube Riverbed Condition Begins

A public procurement procedure has been initiated under the Public Procurement Act with the subject: “Implementation of a monitoring and surveying system for riverbed condition”.

The procurement is part of the project “Creation of a River Information System in the Bulgarian section of the Danube River – BULRIS”, phase 2, lot 3, funded by the European Union through Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013 under priority axis 4 “Improvement of maritime and inland waterway navigation”.

The project contributes to the implementation of the common European policy for improving vessel traffic conditions on the Danube River – Pan-European Transport Corridor VII, which represents one of the most important axes for the development of the Trans-European Transport Network. Ensuring safe passage of vessels is a direct responsibility of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, pursuant to Article 115m of the Maritime Space, Inland Waterways and Ports of the Republic of Bulgaria Act (MSIWPPRBA).

The complete implementation of the “Implementation of a monitoring and surveying system for riverbed condition” procurement includes delivery of a vessel, supply and installation of specialized equipment, installation of accompanying elements and sensors, conducting tests, commissioning of the built system and ground center for data processing and storage, training of specialized personnel, as well as warranty and post-warranty maintenance.

The deadline for receiving procurement documentation is April 27, 2013.

Deadline for receiving bids – May 7, 2013.

The submitted bids will be opened on May 8, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in the conference room of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company – Sofia, 69 Shipchenski Prohod Blvd., 4th floor.
