The General Director of State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” Angel Zaburtov has been elected Vice President of the Association of Black and Azov Seas Ports (BASPA).
The organization’s reporting and election conference is being held on September 8 and 9, 2014 in the Georgian city of Batumi and determines the Association’s policy for the next two-year period. BASPA includes all countries from the region of the two seas. It is a non-governmental structure within the Organization for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
During the two-day event, discussions are planned on the main problems and prospects for the development of maritime transport in the Black Sea region, with a view to ensuring the safety of navigation in the Bosphorus Strait. The program includes topics on competitiveness and prospects for traffic between Europe and Asia, the Baltic and Black Sea regions using intermodal transport and high-speed railway trains. The participant in the conference on behalf of State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” is Deputy General Director Alexander Alexandrov.
