The River Information Services Center in Ruse Will be Completed by Mid-2014.

At the end of November, the main construction activities for the River Information Services Center were completed, and Act 14 for the acceptance of the building’s structure was signed.

Before the final completion of the first specialized building for ship traffic management in our country, the installation of internal systems and the provision of communication links for the RIS center, technical equipment, and the design of the facade and surrounding area are yet to be completed.

The building is designed in compliance with modern energy efficiency requirements. The external walls are designed using a special technology to ensure the necessary parameters for sound and thermal insulation. The exterior design of the building includes cladding systems highly resistant to weather conditions, providing the necessary hydro and thermal protection and harmonizing with the building’s specific appearance. An aluminum system with integrated sun protection optical elements will be used for glazing, providing protection against overheating while allowing natural light to pass through. These are just some of the elements that enable achieving a maximum energy efficiency coefficient. On the building’s roof, where relay and radar antennas necessary for the information system’s operation will be installed, a photovoltaic system is also planned to be built, ensuring a high degree of energy independence. A preliminary assessment showed that upon project completion, the building will meet the “A” class energy consumption standard.

The construction of the River Information Services Center will create a high-tech, modern, and intelligent building with a distinctive and memorable architectural image that harmoniously fits into the existing urban environment.

The design and construction of the River Information Services Center are funded under the project: “Establishment of a River Information System in the Bulgarian part of the Danube River – BULRIS” – Phase 2, Lot 1: “Construction of RIS CENTER RUSE and construction supervision”, funded under Priority Axis 4 “Improvement of navigation conditions on maritime and inland waterways” of the Operational Program “Transport” 2007 – 2013.
