On International Youth Day, we introduce you to the youngest lady in the team of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company.
Elena Ivanova’s educational journey began at Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School “Acad. Boyan Petkanchin” in her hometown of Haskovo. She graduated with honours in Informatics with English Language. Her interest in technology and the digital world led her to develop skills in working with a wide range of information systems.
She furthered her education at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in English Language. Her academic training enabled her to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge spanning economics, accounting, law, human resource management, and organisational development.
She further enhanced her qualifications by enrolling in a Master’s programme in Communication Management at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), from which she graduated as the top student of her class.
Her professional career began in the administration of one of Sofia’s largest high schools, where her daily interaction with students, parents, teachers, and administrative staff helped her develop strong communication skills and the ability to adapt her approach to a wide variety of people and situations.
Today, she has the opportunity to be part of the team at Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, where she applies the knowledge she has acquired in a real professional environment and gains valuable practical experience within the Project Management Directorate. Her work involves a diverse range of challenges that require strong organisational and communication skills, as well as a commitment to continuous professional development.
She values the opportunity to be part of a team where professionalism goes hand in hand with mutual respect and support, and to contribute to processes that have a meaningful impact and support the development of Bulgarian ports.
During weekends, she recharges by travelling to unfamiliar places and discovering different cultures. She believes that every new place gives us the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
For Elena, development is a continuous process, both professionally and personally. She describes herself as organised, persistent and eager to learn, and her favourite quote is by Albert Einstein: “The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
