Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company joins European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP)

Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company has become a new member of the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP) as of September 1, 2015. The Federation unites over 200 inland ports and port administrations from 18 European Union countries, Switzerland, and Ukraine. Since 1994, EFIP has been the voice of ports in Europe.

“We are pleased to welcome Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company to our association,” announced the President of EFIP, Mr. Hans-Peter Hadorn. According to him, Bulgarian inland ports are important for the federation as they are strategically located at the crossroads between East, West, North, and South. Mr. Hans-Peter Hadorn expressed hope that the EU-level cooperation between EFIP and BPI Co. would be exceptionally active and productive.

The Director of the European Federation of Inland Ports, Alexander van den Bosch, also cordially welcomed Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company to the federation. He expressed his eagerness to work with BPI Co. and hoped that through the company’s experience, EFIP’s strategic position in Europe would be strengthened.

For his part, the Director of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, Mr. Angel Zaburtov, stated that as a new member of the European Federation, the company is ready to add its voice to the extensive network of inland ports of the European Union, Switzerland, and Ukraine. “I hope that our membership will fully contribute to strengthening and expanding the role of inland ports as genuine intermodal hubs,” Mr. Angel Zaburtov further stated.
