The General Director of the State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” Angel Zaburtov inaugurated a modern electric vehicle charging station on the peak of Burgas city’s holiday – December 6. In the presence of guests and media, a visual demonstration of electric vehicle charging was conducted. With the new facility, installed in the parking area of the Burgas-East 1 port terminal, BPI Co. contributes to a modern and “green” Burgas, and the port welcomed St. Nicholas Day with another addition to its European vision.
Angel Zaburtov stated that the installation of the new charging station is another step in BPI Co.’s mission to transform the port in the seaside city into a modern port with a European vision. He added that the construction of the Congress Center nearby is progressing rapidly, and he hopes the iconic building will be ready next year.
The new charging station is suitable for all types of electric vehicles – cars, buses, scooters, mopeds, and bicycles. It can simultaneously charge two electric vehicles with a power of 22KW at 400V. Its high-tech display informs users in three languages – Bulgarian, English, and Russian.
One of the latest modernizations of Burgas port was carried out by BPI Co. in 2016 with the renovation of the iconic Warehouse 1, with the reconstructed building winning an award in the category “Urban Projects – Transport Infrastructure – Burgas” in the “Building of the Year 2016” competition. The area around the Sea Station, Traffic Tower, and Yacht Club was also improved. The European vision of the port was complemented by the construction of a new road to the Sea Station with a roundabout, new sidewalks, quay pavement and green areas, parking lots for buses and cars, as well as a bicycle lane. After the reconstruction, the Free Access Zone of Burgas port became an even more attractive place for Burgas residents and visitors to the city.
