The Deputy Director General of the State Enterprise “Port Infrastructure” Ivan Valkov defined the project “Links from East to West” of BMF Port Burgas AD as an example of high professionalism. This happened during an official event dedicated to the early completion of the project, which was held today at the International Congress Centre in Burgas. The event was attended by representatives of BMF Port Burgas AD as well as institutional partners.
The project is co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility. It is aimed at improving rail access to the port of Burgas through the construction of new rail infrastructure at the Burgas-West and Burgas-East 2 terminals. Its implementation will contribute to optimising intermodal operations and increasing the efficiency of cargo handling activities.
In his address Ivan Valkov congratulated the Executive Director of BMF Port Burgas Boris Balev for the successful and early implementation of the project. He stressed the importance of the achieved result as an expression of good coordination and effective interaction between all participants in the process. In his words, the development of railway connectivity and the optimization of logistics processes will contribute to increasing the capacity of the port of Burgas and to improving the environment in the region.
