The realization of the project is aimed at the reconstruction and modernization of the old breakwater of Burgas, which as a result of the years has a highly compromised and damaged structure due to a number of external factors, mainly natural phenomena such as strong winds, large waves and damaged armouring of artificial elements. The reconstruction and modernization of the Burgas port breakwater, as part of the port infrastructure, will contribute to ensuring the safety of navigation, port services and port facilities. Through the implementation of the project, the main function of the breakwater will be guaranteed, as well as additional functions related to the implementation of public pedestrian access in a new area of the facility.

Main objective: Ensuring the safety of navigation, port services and facilities in the water area of the port of Burgas through the rehabilitation of the existing breakwater.

Specific objectives:

• To provide better protection for the Port of Burgas and improve the efficiency of the facility by increasing the net height of the breakwater and upgrading its structural elements;
• Provide a new function for the facility by constructing a pedestrian walkway for free access.
